Welcome, and thank you for coming to my Donors Choose page! My name is Mr. Ma and as a teacher of high school English, I truly believe in the transformative power of literature. I philosophically believe that class texts should be both culturally relevant and canonically reverent. But above all, literature should be a means to examine, challenge, and reform the way one sees the self and the world. Most importantly, I truly believe that despite all the statistics that may say otherwise, my students can and will go to college. As their teacher, it is my responsibility to prepare them for a future in furthering their education. Through hard work and dedication, anything is possible, and access to transformative literature is one key to opening innumerable doors of opportunity.
