Students need to look up from their screens every so often, and a document camera will help to grab their attention. My students are coming into my classroom as wonderful writers, but need to be able to refine and edit their writing together. A document camera will allow for volunteers to have their work reviewed by the entire class as we work together to build community and rapport. Also, students will be able to see examples of worksheets, stories, poetry, and other reading material displayed at the front of the room as we work together to build essential reading skills for their future.
