I am a Nationally Board Certified and Golden Apple Award-Winning Teacher of middle school students at an inner-city elementary school that serves over 500 energetic prekindergarten through grade 8 students. National Board Certification is the most rigorous teaching certification program, and to date less than 3% of all teachers hold this certification. The Golden Apple Award is given annually to only 10 teachers from across all of the Chicago metropolitan area. I have earned these distinctions through my commitment to providing all students with topnotch educational experiences such as establishing a community garden, after-school Science and Environmental Clubs, and a middle school financial literacy club. We are so appreciative to have received numerous Donorschoose awards and I know I could not have received the 2 distinctions that I mentioned without the support of generous donors like you!
