I teach 6th grade Science at a middle school in Arkansas. Our student population is a very diverse and over 50% of our population are English Language Learners. In addition, over 70% of our students are economically disadvantaged. I have noticed that my weekly lab activities help bring meaning and concept understanding to all students. These activities give my curriculum relevance to all students.
