Young musicians need to develop consistent practice habits to build their "music muscles" and their confidence. The items in this project will allow students to be able to rehearse and practice more efficiently using high quality materials. These items, including a shared cello, a tuba stand, and mallets, will be used by multiple students throughout the school day - in other words, there will be a big impact on student learning and practice! The shared cello will allow our students (from our three string orchestras) to rehearse and participate in class, even if they are unable to bring their own instrument to school! Tubas are heavy and cumbersome, and a tuba stand will help even the most petite musicians (from our three concert bands) play these large instruments with ease! The mallets will support our percussionists (also from our three concert bands) with using proper equipment, and will enable them to achieve a uniform sound when playing. In addition, more musicians can practice at any given time!
