I am a public school teacher in a high-need, urban high school located in the Soundview section of the Bronx. I recently took our entire 9th grade on a hiking trip in the Hudson Highlands. Most have never been outside the Bronx. They loved it. I would love to create a Outdoors Club where I could take our most underserved students on hiking trips outside the city to help build character and help them understand that no obstacle is too big to conquer.
