I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade mathematics for an impoverished Chicago public school located in a very hostile and chaotic community. Our school services students that are the result of drugs, alcohol and other destructive forces in society. We have a very high poverty rate which allows us to some Title 9 funds, but the children still lack motivation to learn.
