An engaging classroom is every teachers goal for their students. We strive to engage our students so they can make connections and retain the information they learn. Currently, my students are learning about physics and are fascinated about the connections they are making to real world applications. They have been completing online interactive tools associated with physics and are making great progress with this unit. However, they are constantly asking if I have anything they can use with their hands that doesn't involve a chromebook. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work when they are given the opportunity to apply what they are learning. The products that I have chosen will give my students a chance to learn with a hands on approach. Sphero has designed a gyro ball that will engage my students with their learning of physics. This will benefit my students greatly with our physics unit and students will have a better understanding of velocity, kinetic energy, potential energy, and many more physics concepts. I can see how student engagement has changed the learning atmosphere of my class and hope that the additional tools will help us grow more as learners.
