These microphones and headphones are part of our 4th-grade wave and sound unit. We are studying all the ways that waves propagate and transfer energy. Students will build musical instruments and record them in different environments, including "recording studios" that they construct. They will mix their recordings on audio editing software for a final artifact of their learning. Quality headphones for all will help them really hear their work and the nuances of the different recording environments. But that is not all! The microphones will be used throughout the year. We have so many multimedia projects planned for the kids to express themselves, including public service announcements and voice over and sound effects for stop motion animations.
