Student: "Mister!!! Can we PLEASE do another lab? Those are the best." Me: "Definitely! I'm planning the next one now." In my room, science is an exciting subject. We do as many lab investigations as I can think of, finding ways to connect fun and thrilling experiences to the things my students need to learn about Biology. We've looked at the teeming microscopic life in pond water, seeing a world hidden from the naked eye. We've seen gummy bears bloated because of osmosis (and sadly some exploded from the force). We've ran up and down and up and down and up and down the hallway to see how the body responds to maintain homeostasis. We've kept pet fish to test the possibility of an ecosystem in a bottle. We've created ant farms to look at the dynamics of a hive. But it's not enough! My students want to learn and experience more. So do I! Help me turn them into science-loving kids who will one day change the world.
