Adding the carpet to my classroom will be the magic touch to help engage my students. At the beginning of each class we play CNN 10 in which my students learn about news happening around the world. Often times students want to come to the front to sit, but have to do so on our cold floor. This rug will provide a nice spot for all students. I want my students to feel the same affect the magic carpet gives in Aladdin in which they take their learning on an adventure! This carpet picked showcases the 50 states as well which also becomes an added map to learn from. My students are participating in a postcard exchange with the other 49 states. This carpet allows us to talk about the state and see it directly. This new addition to our classroom will allow my students to grow Abs: Academically, Behaviorally and Socially.
