The Harmony Director is a tool used in music rooms across the world to improve the individual and ensemble music experience by improving intonation and rhythm understanding. Instrumentalists using standard tuners or tuning apps are tuning notes based on equal temperament. Just intonation tuning is what sets an intermediate musician apart from an advanced musician. The Harmony Director trains musicians to tune notes based on just intonation. It trains them to adjust the tuning of each of their notes individually depending on what key they are playing in. This is how instrumental and vocal groups have tried to tune for years, but now we have a tool, such as this, to provide the audible examples for students to hear.
