I have the amazing chance to work with students with intellectual disabilities and autism on a daily basis. My students love coming to school and they enjoy being part of a classroom team. They are an amazing group of compassionate and caring individuals who love to give high fives and fist bumps. Despite the many challenges that they face, most of them are a "happy 5" day in and day out. (A 5 means they are having the "best day ever!") I not only help them to grow to their potential each day by helping them discover their talents, but they also have taught me that each day is special and to slow down and enjoy it.
