Hey everyone! The Dr. Seuss books and materials in this project will be used in my Striped Hat Readers group. The Striped Hat Readers is a small group peer-mentoring program to help build confidence in reading. Fourth and fifth grade student mentors will be paired with second and third grade students in an effort to increase confidence and interest in reading and build positive relationships with other students. The paired students will meet once a week to read a Dr. Seuss book together. I will then lead a discussion on the underlying message of the book and provide an extension activity. The goal of Striped Hat Readers is for students to become engaged and confident readers through fun and support relationships with other students. Your donation is greatly appreciated!!!
