Music can have profound effects on the body and spirit. It can lift my students up after a hard day or literally start the day off on the right note! The ukulele fosters music literacy through ease of success while preparing students for their formative years of music beyond my classroom. As an educator, ukuleles will assist me in teaching by efficiently coupling multiple standards within a single lesson. These instruments will fuel the passion for music literacy, performing, and enjoyment for my students. Not only can the ukulele be used in our general music classes, but performances throughout our community will be arranged for our young music makers to showcase their newfound skills and compositions. My music room is open for all students to come and explore before and after school, encouraging a safe space and a culture centered around increasing prompt attendance. My students can collaborate with each other to perform songs within a wide scope of musicals genres and individual preferences.
