These are items to assist with self-regulation and sensory needs. The students in my class have a variety of different disabilities which affect their ability to self regulate and to address their own sensory needs. Addressing these needs will help to increase the amount of time the students spend on task as they will be less prone to disrupt their own learning or the learning of others. The students will gradually learn to manage their own self-regulation and sensory needs in time. They are still very young and need these items to help them get started. Deep pressure and swing movement are very helpful.
