My students have moderate and severe autism and attend a public high school in California. They are part of a Program that focuses on using research based methodologies to maximize their success. Many of my students come from families that are socio-economically disadvantaged. Because they have autism they do have difficulties not presented to other students, however they also have a lot of personality. They love to cook together, tend our school garden and are part of a recycling club at their school. Angry birds is a preferred pastime, as is watching different videos. I have students who want to build roller-coasters when they grow up and others that want to work in the movies. They are a great group.
