Leveled readers are a foundational learning tool in any classroom. Students need and desire access to titles that excite and explore themes that are interesting and relatable Reading developmentally appropriate text is essential to inspire growth in literacy. Lifelong readers are made, not born. We will be using our leveled readers to support concepts from phonics learning targets to reading comprehension goals. Students will be able to apply knowledge gained in our classroom lessons to their reading. As an example, Leveled Readers are a popular "May Do" as students are offered choices for independent learning once their primary task is complete. Quite often, students may be challenged to choose an appropriate text to partner with a concept such as identifying the characters and setting of a story.
