Our school is in an urban setting in Oklahoma which serves high-risk and underprivileged students. We serve about 750 students, 180 of which walk into my classroom each week. Students at my school come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, and my classroom is no exception. My students are high energy, eager to please, and in need of a way to show me not only that they know the material, but that they are proud of their accomplishments and are striving to learn more. Given the opportunity to use markers on our individual white boards, we will be able to make lessons more interactive and fun, which have both been shown to benefit learning for all students, and particularly students from our school's demographic.
