Because my students are English language learners, kinesthetic learning is really helpful. The carpet that I am requesting can be used like a giant piece of graph paper that the students can stand on to show that they understand the Coordinate Grid. It can also be used to create a giant bar graph. Additional math uses for the rug will be to have a place for circle time, or for students to work quietly on the floor. Finally, the rug is a great way to line up before exiting the classroom because every student has a square to stand on.
