With the chromatic add-ons for our xylophones, we can arrange, play and create using all of the pitches in a chromatic scale. This will let us play in different musical keys as well as play music that has interesting chord changes. My students are ready for a new challenge. They love to discover and play things by ear. These added notes will give them the opportunity to transfer their favorite tunes to a new instrument without many of the limitations of a diatonic xylophone. These will be used in the classroom as well as with my special performance groups. My students will love the extended breadth of our repertoire as well as the new skills they will need to perform it successfully.
