My students are a group of intelligent and highly-motivated young people from inter-city Oakland, CA. Students at this high-performing charter school possess a desire to learn and better their lives through education. Students here are inquisitive and full of personality. During the summer, several of our students take part in CTY (Center for Talented Youth at Johns Hopkins University) which allows students to take a college-course and live on campus at a college or university throughout the United States. In order to be a part of this program, students must reach a benchmark score on the SAT. In addition to school, students are involved in various community organizations and sports.
