Our school is located in Long Beach, and is considered an inner-city school. We have over 1100 students that attend our K-5 campus. All of our students receive free lunch and breakfast daily as we are located in a lower socio-economic area. We have over 90% of our students that are considered English Language Learners. Our students' families often do not speak fluent English, creating a challenge for school work and homework responsibilities. Many of our students live with in multi-family households and don't always receive consistent support at home with their academic needs. With so many challenges at home, our students come to school with an eagerness to learn and a natural excitement to explore the world around them! They work hard to show teachers what they can do, and our teachers match their efforts with engaging lessons and a fun learning environment. My class is filled with 30 smiling faces each day!
