Students will be able to use pastels for an innovative art project and learn the basics of engineering with the Lego kit. Each month we study and write about the life and works of an artist and create one of their projects. Most of our supplies are limited to watercolor and construction paper. The oil pastels would allow us to explore new media materials. Our classroom does not have a daily set of Chromebooks nor do we have any materials to explore basic engineering concepts. The Lego Robot will enhance our Coding Club lessons and apply the programming to an easy to learn robotics tool. Because our school does not receive any additional state funding, it is difficult for us to purchase extra art and engineering materials for our students. Despite this fact, many of our students continue to participate in the PLTW courses and excel in high school.
