As a teacher with over 20 years of classroom teaching experience, I have longed for the day when my students would be able to write, shoot, and edit their own film shorts or mini-documentaries in class. Providing my students with regular access to an iPad would enable them to accomplish this goal. Purchasing a class set of iPads is clearly cost prohibitive. Procuring a single iPad is the next best thing, and it also happens to be incredibly cost effective by comparison. Enabling students to create their own films is a crucial media experience as they segue from high school studies to college and career.
