My scholars need engaging, high-interest nonfiction texts to be college and career ready. We have classroom books, but currently our informational section of our library is barren. There are empty book bins and bookshelves that are waiting for biographies, books about flora and fauna, and texts about how our world works. Furthermore, our students do not have access to a school library because of budget constraints. The nearest public library is not in the safest part of town, either. My scholars love reading and devour books on the daily. We urge you to help us create a classroom space that allows for safe, convenient access to the written word to strengthen our love of reading.
