My students attend high school in an urban, low-income community in California. More than 60% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch. More than 85% of the student body is composed of minorities, including a 50% Latino and 25% Black student population. Despite the statistics, my students are on a mission. They are driven and motivated to attend college and continue their education. They simply will not give up.
