My students will be traveling to Nature's Classroom in Ocean Park, ME towards the of our school year. This trip helps to build community, a sense of environmental responsibility, and helps students to build self confidence. Students will be fully immersed in studies of various ecosystems including vernal pools, salt marshes, and forests. They will experience first hand what it's like to be a scientist in the field. As part of their studies, they will learn how nature is interconnected. Students will be given opportunities to choose what classes they want to take, with topics ranging from building a geodesic dome to navigating with a compass, and even composing woodland music.
