The idea for the bow ties is to make the students stand out from the crowd. Our school already has uniforms so the bow ties will allow teachers and staff to recognize which students are apart of the our specialized academy within the school. The hope is that the boys will wear their bow ties every Tuesday to stand out and receive encouragement for staff members. The ties will also create a team/family environment in the class, so the students will feel it is okay to express themselves in the class without being made fun of or judged by their peers just because they may have a different point-of-view.
