If you could hear my students groan when read-to-self time is over, you would understand how much they love to read. I am a beginning teacher with a small personal library, and my students need an expanded collection of excellent books! I selected titles to match my students’ reading levels, interests and future project needs. It is vital for students to have engaging books to choose from; a single book can spark a lifetime of learning, and new selections such as The Olympians, Hatchet and Island of the Blue Dolphins can light that fire. Please help them continue to follow their passion and develop their reading skills, as well as their interest in the world around them. My students love to read and learn about new things in the world. These books will be used for independent reading, class read-alouds, as well as reading-strategy lessons.
