The materials listed in this project will aid the Viking Legion in establishing a consistent band culture for the students. The reeds mouthpieces and neck straps will allow the students to be fully prepared to play their instrument in class. Having more mouthpieces will add over 10 instruments to our active instrument inventory. Having more method books will increase student preparedness, abilily to participate in class, as well as the amount of students that can practice at home. The Standard of Excellence band method books will complete the set of books that we already have and afford the students the opportunity to each have their own book. More drumsticks and practice pads will increase the musicianship of the viking legion percussionist by ensuring that every percussion student has access to each instrument in class and enough resources to practice at home.
