My students will be able to use their new Brother XM2701 sewing machine and sewing accessories to create costumes for their after school performances. My students are constantly coming up with great ideas on what they could wear on stage to bring their characters to life. Unfortunately, there is only so far hot glue can take you. With the Brother sewing machine and sewing accessories my students will be able to bring their costume designs to life. In class, we will learn the basics of sewing. They will learn how to thread the machine, they will use the sewing pins and sewing and craft scissors to cut out simple patterns. The after school group will be able to expand on this knowledge to create custom pieces for their fall show, this semester. This is another great way to showcase the amazing talent here at Maple Park.
