Tapping pencils. Tapping feet. Fidgeting. Classroom distractions? Yes, AND a cry out for the need to move as we learn. Some of us NEED to move to be successful! The Bike/Desks we are requesting will help us MOVE and moving helps some of us (all of us?) learn even better! Nine and ten year olds in our class will be able to pedal as they learn and grow. AND, using these Bike/Desks will help cut down on the distracting sounds and movements of tapping feet and pencils. When we move more we feel better-who knows, these desks may even promote a love of exercise outside of school! Our school in mid-Maine is in a 100 year old building in the middle of a residential area. We have no field to run around outside the building, and not much room inside. Any opportunity to move helps us.
