My students are a dedicated and hardworking bunch who never cease to surprise me every day with their passion and love of music. Currently, I teach general music on a cart, traveling from classroom to classroom. I also teach 4th and 5th grade band and orchestra, as well as 3rd/4th and 5th grade choirs. The ensembles meet in a small reading resource room and I also facilitate an instrument tutoring outreach program from the local high school in our cafeteria after lunchtime once a week. I'm hoping soon to have a classroom of my own and develop a theater department at my elementary school for the kids to experience all kinds of performing arts and ways to express themselves. Our school is on 100% reduced and free lunch, and students are also provided breakfast and snack through grant programs.
