Number sense is important because it encourages students to think flexibly and promotes confidence with numbers. One of the main building blocks for children as they learn to understand math is grasping number sense. Introducing children to number talks daily is the best way of helping them gain a solid number sense. This Math Kit will allow my students exposure and practice to different number sense activities each day. Building math minds is vital to students success. Practicing with different manipulatives such as rekenreks and number strings will allow my students more opportunities to explore numbers and build a strong number sense foundation.
