Last year was my first year as a teacher, and I never procured a rug for my second graders. While they always met me on the chilly linoleum floor with smiling faces, they deserved to be comfortable; they deserved a rug. This year, I am determined to make this a reality for my incoming students.
I teach at a Title I K-2 Primary school in Illinois. 96% of our students are low income. My 28 students are energetic, driven, kind, and funny. They are always eager to learn and share their thoughts and opinions with one another.
