Our school is a public school, serving Preschool - 6th Grade. The students in my class have severe handicaps, ranging from Intellectual Disabilities to Autism. They start in my room when they are 3 years old and stay through Kindergarten. Their ability levels range from 8-24 months. These students have delays in communication/speech, social skills, academics, fine and gross motor skills, and play skills. With the addition of each new student, our classroom dynamic changes. They are they sweetest, most loving group of students you will find. I have three instructional assistants and though we come to work hoping to make a difference in the lives of our students, they are the ones who change our lives. I want to create an environment that will help them grow and learn.
