Our curriculum emphasizes the use of short stories and texts due to our school being on turn-around status. Therefore, it's difficult to create a classroom that can sustain long-term reading and interest building. However, my students are looking for books that build on what they already know or are seeking to learn. These books will create a love for reading within each of my students. The creation of a classroom library that my students can access for a variety of reading interests is important to creating well-read and well-informed lifelong learners. This library will also serve as a resource for students who aren't able to have their own personal library at home.
