Every day students will come to the rug to meet with each other, build a community within the classroom, and be involved in lessons and learning. There is not a rug in the classroom right now. Without a rug, my students would have to sit on a cold, tile floor. Adding a rug to our classroom would not only make it where students have a warm and comfy place to sit, but it would create an area where students want to be while learning. Because our classroom has flexible seating, a rug would be the perfect addition to our classroom. Students could sit on the rug while reading or working on an assignment. The rug would make our classroom have more of a warm and positive atmosphere and a create an environment where students can be themselves.
