Many of my students come from very low-income homes, so any kind of project in school is entirely funded by the teachers, or by generous donations from community members. Our school is Title 1, with an 85%+ free and reduced-price lunch program. There are many active gangs in the area, and many of our families are in homes affected by drug use or gang membership. These kids are so grateful for everything they are given. They are kind, compassionate, and love to be praised. They deserve to have the experiences that other kids get in higher income areas, and it will not be wasted on them.

About my class
