The materials and supplies that I am asking for are some of the most basic necessities every classroom should have. As a first-year teacher, I want my students to have all of the same supplies as everyone else that has been teaching for much longer. My school is in a high poverty area and I know just how difficult it can be for parents to decide between supplies for their students or a meal on the table. I would like to use these materials to lessen the hardship on our families and so that the children would still have what they need to participate in our classroom. I am determined to give my students a year to remember and knowledge to propel them forward for years to come.
