I work with young students, age 3-7, with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Many of my students do well academically, but they have to be taught important basic social skills (like having joint attention with adults and peers or even just playing with toys appropriately) and self-regulation skills for their sensory preferences. My goal in my classroom is to help teach vital social skills and self-regulation skills to our young kiddos with autism that will help us get them one step closer to being able to attend school with their peers in the coming years.
