WOW! I cannot believe I am entering my 10th year as a Kindergarten teacher! The day I said "YES" to Kindergarten was probably the best life change I could have made years ago. My little Kinders are part of an amazing public school in Cincinnati, Ohio that serves almost 700 neighborhood children in the grades PreK-6th grade! What is difficult, is that over 95% of those students receive free or reduced lunches, as well as many of them take home care packages at the end of each week for the weekend care. In addition to being part of a Title 1 school, many of my students fall under the "ESL" category. Creating a welcoming, inviting and warm atmosphere in my classroom has been a goal of mine for the past two years. Each and every project I start is just one step towards that goal!
