My students are avid and thriving reading connoisseurs. However, they are tired of reading their old books at home over and over again! Due to COVID-19, we have been in Distance Learning for over a year and they are unable to have access to a library with physical books. I am requesting three books total for each student. One book is for a personal choice read, one book is for a class read aloud and the other book is for a summer read. By donating to our project, you will not only be supporting avid readers continue their love for reading, but providing them with strong reading materials in their own home. These books are going to help elevate their love for reading even more. Esperanza Rising is an incredible book that aligns with our school curriculum, will help my students better grasp the 5th grade English Language Arts priority standards and has a great message. The various book titles are specific to my students reading levels and genera preferences. Lastly, The One and Only Ivan is an awesome summer read with a great moral to keep my students reading through summer break!
