Currently, my students do not have a rug for a meeting area or a rocking chair to utilize when reading to their classmates. When we meet in the morning for morning meeting or when we meet for whole group Instruction, students will have a nice place to sit and learn with the items requested. What makes this carpet so special is that it contains English and Spanish! My classroom is made up of predominately English language learners, and I believe it is important to incorporate their language and culture throughout the content and the classroom environment. The rocking chair will be utilized for read-alouds or when students are independently reading. In our class, we are focusing on becoming avid readers who are engaged in all types of literature. By donating to this project, you are enhancing our classroom library as well as providing us with a meaningful meeting area!
