By having an up-to-date news and trending source for reading materials, such as Scholastic Scope magazine, my students will be more motivated to learn basic reading skills and delve into critical thinking activities easily. Scholastic Scope provides outstanding resources to match their articles, which gives me more time to spend on student learning instead of creating resources. Scholastic Scope includes pictures and vocabulary that will help my immigrant students more easily grasp their new language. I have asked for enough copies for two classrooms; however, I teach 119 students. Fifty copies will provide copies for my students with learning disabilities to have their own copy, and I will be able to keep the remaining copies as a classroom set.
