As a first year teacher, I am not coming into the classroom with many supplies for my students. They are not required to bring their own supplies either being from low socioeconomic backgrounds. The supplies donated toward this project will be used daily throughout the whole year for learning activities, projects, and assignments that will help them develop into first grade scholars. We will use the notebooks as writing journals so each student comes out of first grade believing that they are writers. We will use the art supplies (crayons, markers, highlighters, pencils, and erasers) for literacy, math, and art activities. We will use the dry erase markers and erasers daily as we study letters and sounds.
