We are a Title I school which has experienced severe budget cuts in our lab materials funds. These students are our best and brightest and will graduate with dual diplomas. These labs will help prepare them for the second of these diplomas, the International Baccalaureate diploma. For their senior year they will engage in independent lab inquiry, beginning with the microbiology labs these kits will provide. They will move on to independent projects of their own design. The students are are an incredibly diverse group, representing at least a dozen cultures and languages. In the class photo they are in a salt marsh investigating the biological and physical properties of marsh substrates. They are a hard working and engaging bunch, and I look forward to sharing with you the value of the materials you have provided.
