I have an AM class and a PM class. My students must qualify by one of the following: income, ELL, military or foster/adoption. Most of the students come to me with little oral language skills, social interaction, and exposure to the world. Family support is typically low, due to multiple jobs and/or lack of education. It is a challenge to improve academic and language abilities when there is little reinforcement at home (I only have them for 3 hours a day). Therefore, the quality of play we facilitate in my classroom has to very intentional. The best teachers use their students interests as a guide when planning activities (which means no class is ever the same). In order for me to purchase items necessary for those interests, I need to have my budget for bigger items (carpets and replacement items that break) to be freed up. I appreciate any help with these donations!
