Most of my students are freshmen and sophomores who are still adjusting to the rigor of high school level courses. They have a lot of energy but get overwhelmed by how much application and technology our new algebra courses require. Right now our school is struggling with unusually high numbers of students failing these algebra courses and having to retake the class (meaning that they lose out on elective courses and the opportunity to get to higher maths before graduation).
